Rob Monroe recently settled yet another a workers’ compensation claim, this one for $112,500.

Workers’ compensation is a no-fault system intended to make sure injured workers are taken care of. Yet all too often employers try to limit or even deny coverage. Rob’s client was working for a local manufacturer and injured his shoulder while hand-carrying supplies on the job. The employee underwent rotator cuff surgery, and may eventually require a total shoulder replacement due to the severity of the injury. The employer fired Rob’s client shortly after the surgery and refused to pay him any weekly benefits. Then Rob stepped in. On top of a substantial lump-sum settlement, Rob was successful in also forcing the employer to begin paying weekly benefits after establishing that his client could not find any other work because of his shoulder restrictions.

This is the latest in a series of successful settlements for Rob over the last several months. If you’ve been hurt at work, call Rob, and he will be glad to talk with you.

Rob Monroe has settled yet another workers compensation claim against a local resort for $95,000 lump sum after his client, a banquet server, injured his shoulder and neck carrying heavy trays of plates and glassware. Rob’s client eventually had to undergo surgery with a specialist at Emory to correct a suprascapular nerve entrapment in the shoulder. The employer fought the claim from the beginning and refused to pay Rob’s client any income benefits or pay any medical expenses, contending that the injury was not related to the client’s job. That’s when Rob got involved and ultimately forced the employer to compensate his client for lost wages and all related medical expenses.

Rob Monroe recently settled another workers compensation claim against a local building contractor for $80,000. Rob’s client was an inspector for the contractor and was seriously injured in 2015 when he accidentally fell eight feet off of a ladder and through the roof of a building he was inspecting. Rob’s client suffered a fractured femur, upper arm, and shoulder, and was out of work for a number of weeks before making somewhat of a miraculous recovery and returning to a light duty. Even after the client returned to work, Rob was able to force the insurance company to continue to compensate him for his wage loss due to the injury. The building contractor eventually went out of business, which opened the door for a settlement of the claim.
