Ben joined the firm as an associate in 2017 following two summers clerking at the firm during law school. He was raised in Tyrone, GA and eventually moved to Douglasville, GA, where he is a 2008 graduate of South Paulding High School. Ben moved to Rome to attend Shorter University where he played baseball from 2008-2013. After graduating with a BBA in Sport Management in 2012, Ben went on to earn his MBA from Shorter in 2014. While working towards his MBA, Ben worked as a graduate assistant in Shorter’s athletic department.
Following his time at Shorter University, Ben attended The University of Georgia School of Law where he graduated Cum Laude in 2017. During law school, Ben was very involved with UGA’s Advocacy program, competing on both the Moot Court and Mock Trial teams. Ben’s team won the 2016 Intrastate Moot Court Competition and took home the award for “Best Brief”. In his third year Ben’s advocacy experience earned him a selection into the Joseph Henry Lumpkin American Inn of Court. Ben was also sworn in under the Third Year Practice Act during his final year at UGA and worked in the Newton County District Attorney’s Office where he helped prosecute both felonies and misdemeanors. Prior to graduation, Ben was presented with the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association Willis J. “Dick” Richardson, Jr. Student Award for Outstanding Trial Advocacy. Ben and his wife, Abby, a Rome native, live in Rome.
