Mat is a board member of the Rome YMCA, director of Rome Rotary Club and Mentor. He is the former regional coordinator for the High School Mock Trial Association and is the former coach of the Coosa High School Mock Trial Team. Mat is still active as a judge and assistant for local and regional competitions.
Mat is a speaker at Planned Giving Seminars hosted by Berry College and he provides in-house seminars at Floyd Medical Center .
